I’ve been super busy - both with my personal & professional lives….this of course includes Millennium Exile :)
The focus of this blog will center around the release of the Volume One Audiobook however let’s start with some local news.
Local markets Stall
Last Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the Forest Lake Markets in QLD, Australia.
I really wasn’t sure what to expect - as I usually cater toward anime & pop culture conventions (as that’s what they are there for).
Marketplaces in busy city areas usually pull in crowds from a variety of different suburbs and areas - so you can expect some decent success. However, those busier locations usually cost a lot more for stall hire. As such, I thought this would be an interesting opportunity to take advantage of the lower fees and gather some valuable data regarding the saturation of anime & manga in the smaller communities.
So with that “big brain” idea in place, I set up my humble little stall.
Firstly, I’d like to shout out the amazing amount of love and support that was on display.
From the loan of, and assistance from the organizers with setting up a gazebo...to the lovely owner of Bow Tie Pets offering me a shade net and lighting - everyone was so nice!
I even got a visit from Milton Dick MP who was kind enough to buy a couple of copies of my book to show his support!
All in all, I came out ahead by more than I was expecting (I was actually just aiming to break even rofl).
But even more important than the money is that more people will get to experience my story :)
I just hope I can live up to their expectations.
